Mechanical disc brakes don't work

Hi potential mechanical disc brake buyers.

I just wanted to share my experience, hopefully it will help you to choose the right brakes.

I got Shimano mechanical disc brakes 8 months ago and I had all the problems with those, they require adjustments every 2 weeks, the cable snaps because you have to use the FORCE to stop the bike most of the time, in rain the brakes are completly ineffective, the brakes pads need to be changed every 3 months etc... In one word, mechanical brakes SUCK.

Please, don't buy mechanical brakes; either go with the good old V brakes or opt for the more expensive hydraulic brakes. Mechanical brakes suck, whoever says otherwise don't ride 5 days a week rain or shine. I just decided to get the hydraulic ones because my frame does not let me to go back to the V brakes. I will be smarter next time.
